“Around the World”

By The Way…it’s the By The Way Album Review :)

Applauded by critics as a departure from the band’s previous styles, and recognized for the melodic and subdued emotions given by its members, ‘By The Way’ is the eighth studio album by American alternative rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Released on the 9th of July, 2002 on Warner Bros. Records, over 282,000 copies of the album were sold during the first week of its launch, peaking at number two on the Billboard 200.

Once a Minor, Always a Minor

A Return to Glory

After the release of Blood Sugar Sex Magik, the Red Hot Chili Peppers were looking to stay on top of the world, as kings of the alternative rock scene.  However, after the departure of John Frusciante, the Peppers were required to find a new guitarist.  With the release of One Hot Minute, the Peppers realized they were not able to maintain this sound without Frusciante, and deemed the album as a failure in light of the lower sales when compared to Blood Sugar Sex Magik.  In this article, Chris Lohrmann takes you on an comparison between Blood Sugar Sex Magik, One Hot Minute, and beyond to Californication.
